Scottie Scheffler had a strong showing at the last tournament, the FedEx St. Jude Championship 2025, finishing in third place with a total score of 15 shots under par. The 29-year-old golfer played 3 under par (67 shots) in the final round, but he failed to celebrate this time. 

Justin Rose celebrated in a dramatic playoff against J.J. Spaun. 

In an interview with the media, Scheffler reflected on his performance. 

The world number 1 pointed out that he was satisfied with the game this week, but there were some moments where Scottie expected more from himself.

"Yeah, did a lot of good stuff, fought pretty hard most of the week. Like I said, today was a day where I executed really well, hit my lines on the greens, hit a lot of good shots going into the greens. Just ball wasn't going in. Just a little bit off, I guess.."- he said.

J.J. Spaun is having a dream season. While the seasoned golfer hasn't been a dominant figure on the PGA Tour in recent years, he seems to be an unstoppable enigma to many this year. 

Scheffler had nothing but praise for him, praising various aspects of Spaun's game. 

There are many things that make this golfer so superior and great, and it looks like he could continue to be just as strong in the future.

"Yeah, he's a great player. He's got a ton of talent. He hits it really, really solid. To win a U.S. Open you've got to grind really hard, and he's a guy that he gets the ball in play, hits it really solid and he holes a lot of putts. He's a tough guy to beat.

You love seeing guys like that have success, guys that work hard and get the most out of their games, and J.J. is definitely one of those guys that's a grinder out here. You always see him practicing, see him in the gym. Definitely happy to see him having the success that he has.."

That was pretty funny. We walked into the pro shop at the local public course, and I knew the pro there, and he was like, hey, Scottie, how you doing, great to have you out. I was like, I'd like to just pay for the round, we're teeing off at 2:00. He's like, you're good. My buddy was like, thanks, man, that's awesome, appreciate it. He's like, actually, you've got to pay.

It was probably five years ago and we still laugh about it to this day because he was so excited to get the free round and the pro was like, actually you're still paying, buddy.."- he said.

Scheffler's future

It is hard to imagine Scheffler paying for a round of golf, especially now that he is such an important figure on the golf scene. Some are predicting that Scottie will break all the records of the golf icon, but giving such predictions at this moment seems too optimistic.

There is no doubt that Scottie could achieve much greater success, but the important thing is that he remains healthy, just as motivated, but even so, there are many factors that will dictate his path.

"Well, I think it all comes down to the preparation and showing up ready to play. Like I said, at this point in the year, that extra practice is maybe only going to be draining for me a little bit, and that's something that I've learned to manage as my career has gone on.

I would say my prep week last week definitely looked a bit different than it would have looked before the Scottish Open and definitely looked a little bit different than it would have looked if you go back to the beginning of the year when I was coming off injury.

So making sure I'm rested, ready to play. My game is in a good spot, and I feel like some extra practice at this point in the year can almost be detrimental in terms of just physical and mental fatigue. Showing up like you're ready to play."- he said.

Winning the Open Championship was a big deal for Scottie Scheffler. The 29-year-old golfer was extremely motivated to win the tournament, and ultimately, he came away with a very important victory. 

The popular golfer failed to be such an important figure at this Major in the past, but he never once thought about giving up. Waiting for his chance for a little longer, Scheffler conquered the competition and came out on top in the fierce competition. 

Regardless of how calm the 29-year-old is and someone who is not known for extreme behavior, Scheffler wanted to celebrate this victory with friends and family. 

The celebration seems to have lasted a long time, and Scottie has only fond memories of it.

The 29-year-old golfer wanted to celebrate such a victory in a special way, admitting that he partied with friends, even drinking from Claret Jug.

"Yeah, I did. We had a party two weeks ago at home with some of our friends, and everybody got to drink out of it. It was a lot of fun."- he said.

Scheffler wanted to celebrate this victory in a special way, deciding to take his son Bennett to Royal Oaks to take some photos.

"I brought it up to Royal Oaks a couple times, my home course, and one afternoon I think Meredith was getting a haircut or something, and I was resting and so I had Bennett, and I took him to Royal Oaks. He whacked some golf balls around, and we hung out for a bit. I took him to the 19th hole with me, and I got some pretty funny pictures with Bennett sitting in the 19th hole at the men's only grill where you've got to be — I think you've got to be 19 to get in there, but I figured if we bring in a couple major championship trophies with us, they'll let the rules slide on that one.

Yeah, a lot of people got to drink out of it. It was a lot of fun.."- he concluded.

Tom Brady challenges Scottie Scheffler’s view on golf versus family priorities

Scottie Scheffler seems to be the first name after Tiger Woods to show dominance in golf, winning two Majors this year, but being equally dominant last season. 

In an interview with the media, the 29-year-old often emphasizes that the biggest credit for his success goes to his family. 

However, Scheffler surprised many at the last press conference, where he pointed out that his family is his priority, and that playing golf is not a priority for him.

"That's why I talk about family being my priority because it really is. … Because I'd much rather be a great father than I would be a great golfer. At the end of the day, that's what's more important to me."- Scottie said.

Tom Brady reacts

While his statements caused positive emotions among golf fans, there are also those who are not quite delighted with the statements of the 29-year-old golfer. 

Tom Brady, the legend of American football, had an interesting reaction to Scheffler's statements, a bit confused why Scottie excludes golf and family, considering that they can go together. 

Brady drew a parallel between Scottie's career and his own, stressing that through playing sports he was also an example for children and family.

"Scottie said he'd rather be a better father and husband than a good golfer. And my question is: why are those mutually exclusive?" Brady wrote. 

"Sure, they're different blocks on the pyramid, but they're part of the same pyramid. They're connected! For instance, I think part of being a great father is being a great example of doing what it takes to take care of your family. I chose to do it by playing football."

Brady believes that by playing American football and making sacrifices to make his career, he was also making a sacrifice for his family. Tom wanted to show his family by his example how much he fights for them, but also show them what discipline, work and passion for a sport can bring. 

Brady does not want sports and family to be mutually exclusive, combining one with the other, and at the same time emphasizing that this combination can be a win-win for one person.

"My dedication to the sport, the hours of practice, the moments when I was laser focused — those were times when I believe I was doing the best possible thing for my family and my kids, by prioritizing my profession and teaching, by example, what it takes to be really good at your job, what it takes to follow through on commitments, what it takes to be a great teammate; and showing them, also by example, that work is a big part of all of our lives."- he concluded.

Gary Williams, an important figure in the golf scene, spoke about Scheffler's dominance and the latest victory, which some labeled as boring. 

Golf fans stress that sometimes it is boring to watch the dominance of Scottie, but it seems that the majority do not share the same opinion. 

The dominance we haven't experienced since Tiger Woods is in the spotlight again.

“Scottie Scheffler is in a stretch of golf that you don’t see very much.

“So if Scottie Scheffler says or does anything that might or might not be interesting when the event is over, who cares? He is doing things in golf that only one other person [Tiger Woods] has done.

And that is, get so far ahead of the competition that he would have to take months, and maybe the next year off, for them to catch up in terms of the quantitative data to prove that they are catching up.”-he concluded.

The movie, the sequel that golf fans have been eagerly awaiting, has finally been released.

Famous faces of the golf scene such as McIlroy, Schauffele and many others appear in this movie. 

During a podcast, Scottie Scheffler shared his thoughts on the sequel to the legendary movie, admitting that he laughed the most at Schauffele's performance in the film.

The 29-year-old is delighted with their lines and acting. 

Scheffler pointed out several names that caught his attention the most.

“The one I laughed the hardest at, and I actually texted Xander this the other day, his lines in the movie are really, really funny,” Scheffler said.

“Him and Rickie did a really good job. So did Will Zalatoris. To be honest with you, I thought everyone did a really great job. I can’t imagine how difficult it is for real actors to deal with us trying to make a movie not look terrible and they did a really good job of helping us along. It was really entertaining and really funny.”

Happy Gilmore 2 has received mostly positive reactions from the public, with many fans admitting that they laughed and enjoyed it. 

This movie had been anticipated for a long time, and the directors and producers have clearly met the public’s expectations.
